The Founder of Bluebird Mercantile wanted something colorful.  I had just created my seagull and was experimenting with different printing techniques so a blue version of it was sitting on my desk.  I took it as a sign that it was supposed to make it's way into their logo. Additionally, the client had seen a very cool font on a boat in Portugal that she loved.  I recreated it for her logo package and included it in the first draft of three variations:

The logo that the client chose included the distinctive Portugal boat font and the seagull off in the corner looking at "Bluebird Mercantile" over his shoulder. 

The final logo that the client chose included the distinctive Portugal boat font and the seagull off in the corner looking at "Bluebird Mercantile" over his shoulder.  A blue background, making the font acid yellow and adding orange touches on the bird fulfilled the client's request for lots of color.  For Insta, the circular version is used and for their window display, the bird became blue and a white font was used.
