PARASOL

Parasol asked for a new logo and a packaging design for their mushroom infused chocolate bar.

LOGO

The client asked for a new logo image and color palette that would appeal to their target market: upper income women.  I created a few variations of  logo images to be used with the Parasol original font.  For colors, I chose neon pink underscored by a rich, darker colors.  I love the way that neon pops on a dark background and makes the logo appear more modern.

PACKAGING

In addition to a logo, I needed to create packing for the Company's chocolate bar.  The client felt that the old packaging was too busy, so I suggested creating a small scale repeating mushroom pattern that would add depth and dimension, but keep it from feeling too busy.  I created a few mushroom "wallpapers", an abstract and a literal, in several different color ways. Next, I layered a solid striped pattern in the center to make it look like a wrapped gift.  The solid stripe also helped to make the ingredient list (on the back) legible.

EXTRAS

I happened to be playing around with block printing when I was working on this project which gave me the idea of making the logo image a stamp.  I created a vector file for the client that they could order a stamp to use on bags for larger orders as well as correspondence.  Lastly, I created an animated gif to give the logo a bit of movement when used electronically.  The final package is below:
